1.36 million Korean tourists spent $4.6 billion in the U.S. in 2013

The number of Korean tourists visiting the U.S. has increased 79 percent over the last eight years, according to California Tourism.
In 2013, 1.36 million tourists visited the U.S. and spent $4.6 billion, compared to 1.25 million tourists who spent $4.1 billion in 2012 and 758,000 tourists who spent $2.7 billion in 2006.
According to California Tourism, Koreans — 408,000 of them — made up 30 percent of all tourism to the state last year. They also took up nearly 20 percent of total spending by tourists in California, with $902,000.
The average stay of a Korean tourist was 19 days in 2013. The average male tourist was 38 years old, while the average female tourist was 33.
