1 S. Korean killed as tourist bus collides with truck in Vietnam
HANOI, (Yonhap) — A tourist bus carrying 22 South Koreans collided with a truck on a road in the northern Vietnamese province of Ha Giang on Friday, killing a South Korean woman in her 60s and seriously injuring two others, a group of Korean tour guides in Hanoi said.
Before the 9:00 a.m. accident, the bus was returning to Hanoi from Halong Bay, one of the hottest tourist attractions for foreigners in the Southeast Asian country. The group said the truck hit the side of the bus, leaving some other passengers slightly injured.
The South Koreans, who are visiting Vietnam as part of a three-day group tour, were to leave for Cambodia the same day.
The embassy is still gathering information on details about the cause of the accident and supporting the injured people.
