The Washington Association for Korean Schools in Washington, D.C., held a collection of contests Saturday for students to showcase their Korean-speaking abilities.

About 200 Korean-language students ranging from kindergarteners to adults participated in separate contests for speaking, fairytale narration and poetry recital.

“Seeing students’ growth each year for these contests makes my job as a Korean school teacher worthwhile,” said WAKS President Han Yeon-sung.
