350,000 Koreans live in 5 states surrounding NY Korean Consulate

Approximately 350,000 Koreans live in five states surrounding the New York Korean Consulate, according to the latest data by South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Koreans in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware number 353,479, a 4 percent rise from 2013.
Of them, 209,280 are U.S. citizens; 56,100 are permanent residents; 20,347 are students; and 67,752 fall under other categories, including those on visas.
The Korean population in the U.S. numbers second-most after China, at 31.2 percent and 36 percent, respectively.
According to data, more than 7.18 million Koreans live in 181 countries.
