All-Star Beethoven night at the Hollywood Bowl
L.A Phil Conductor Gustavo Dudamel will lead the show on July 22 and 24 at 8 p.m.
July 24th Concert Sponsored by The Korea Times
An All-Star Beethoven night at the Hollywood Bowl featuring a renowned trio of French musicians under conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the L.A Philharmonic will take place July 22 and 24 at 8 p.m.
French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, violinist Renaud Capuçon and cellist Gautier Capuçon will headline the concert.
Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and the Triple Concerto were both products from the height of his creativity in his mid- to late-thirties. In particular, the Symphony No. 5, perhaps the most famous of its kind in the world, was written over the course of five years and completed in 1808.
The Triple Concerto is unique for its combination of three main instruments instead of the standard one in conjunction with an orchestra.
Dudamel previously recorded a triple concerto with the Capuçon brothers, world-famous pianist Martha Argerich and the Simon Bolivar orchestra, and has performed with Thibaudet several times in the past.
The concert will be Dudamel’s first time conducting Symphony No. 5.
Tickets for the July 24 concert, sponsored by The Korea Times, cost between $2 to $154. Visit hollywoodbowl.com for more information or call (323) 850-2000.
