Agitated Korean man causes flight diversion
An unruly, agitated man caused a flight headed to Las Vegas from New York to divert to Detroit on Saturday.
According to Detroit police, the plane took off from John F. Kennedy Airport at 6:40 a.m. on JetBlue Flight 211 when the man began cursing and causing a scene in Korean.
The captain made the decision to land in nearby Detroit’s Metropolitan Wayne County Airport at 8:30 a.m.
“I’m going to kill everyone,” the man says in Korean in the video, taken by a passenger and aired by ABC, ready to leap toward the aisle.
“Dad, stop it!” A female voice says.
He is seen to be subdued by flight attendants.
The man lost his temper after starting an argument with his relative, witnesses said. He was taken into custody by Detroit police.
The flight resumed its trip to Las Vegas two hours after its unscheduled landing.
