No hangover for Michelle Wie
June 28, 2014
No hangover for Michelle Wie, as she fired second straight 5-under 66 on Saturday to take a two-shot lead in the suspended second round of the NW Arkansas Championship.
Coming off her first major victory Sunday in the U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst, Wie stands as the only contestant with a double-digit under score at Pinnacle Country Club.
Ryu So-yeon, paired with Wie, is second after her second straight 67, but seventy-two players were unable to finish the round because of afternoon thunderstorms.
Suzann Pettersen, Chella Choi and Line Vedel are three strokes back, and top-ranked and local favorite Stacy Lewis is four shots behind at 6 under. Vedel has five holes left.
