Sistar dominates charts with new song
Pop group Sistar has instantly dominated music charts with its decorously named song, “Touch My Body,” the title track from its new album, “Touch & Move,” which was released on Monday.
As of Tuesday morning, “Touch My Body” was sweeping the top spot on the country’s nine major download sites, including Melon, Mnet, Naver Music, Daum Music and Soribada. Other songs from “Touch & Move” such as “But I Love U,” “Sunshine,” and “OK Go!” were making top-10 lists.
Sistar ― consisting of voluptuous singers Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou and Dasom ― has been one of the country’s most popular music acts since its 2010 debut. Hyolyn is balancing her Sistar activity with a solo career, while Bora and Soyou have been getting their feet wet in acting.
“Every time we released a new album, I was worried whether we would succeed,” Dasom told a press conference in Seoul on Monday. “But this time, I was excited with anticipation that the new album will be a hit. We are determined to express our own musical color. ‘ “We are not pretty or cute like other K-pop groups. We convey a healthy brand of sexiness and I think that is one of our key strengths.”
