Kim Hyun-joong’s former girlfriend drops all charges
By Tae Hong
Charges were dropped Wednesday against K-pop star Kim Hyun-joong, 28, who was accused of multiple instances of abusing his girlfriend since May, Yonhap reported.
The woman, identified as Choi, cancelled charges against the singer-slash-actor through an attorney, who told MyDaily that Kim apologized to Choi in a meeting.
“She decided to withdraw all charges as a last action of consideration for a person she loves,” said Seo Jong-moon, her attorney.
Seoul police said it would close the case after making sure with Choi one more time that she wants charges dropped.
On Monday, Kim posted a message on his official website.
“I’m really sorry to have inflicted mental and physical pain on a person with whom I shared love and trust for two years,” Kim wrote. “I’m embarrassed of myself for behaving in a way a man should not have behaved.”
Choi filed an assault complaint against Kim of three instances of abuse on Aug. 20, in which she said Kim had left bruises covering her body in May and a broken rib in July.
