DAEJEON, South Korea (Yonhap) — A fire of unknown origin engulfed a major tire-making plant in this provincial city on Tuesday, forcing residents living nearby to evacuate, firefighters said.
The blaze started at 8:55 p.m. at a plant run by Hankook Tire Co., the country’s top tiremaker in Daejeon, a major city in central South Korea about 160 kilometers south of Seoul, they said.
