ABC cancels ‘Selfie’ due to low ratings
November 7, 2014
ABC has officially cancelled “Selfie” due to low ratings.
The show was unique In the sense that the American sitcom featured a romantic Asian male lead in Korean American John Cho, but the combined elements never piqued enough interest in audiences.
Critics from the Los Angeles Times to Rolling Stone Magazine gave the show positive feedback claiming “‘Selfie’ has promise,” while a Washington Post reviewer faulted the show’s writing and believed it got in the way of Cho’s and lead actress Karen Gillan’s characters.
Ultimately, the comedy didn’t show ABC enough promise after five episodes to warrant any further production.
