Asian Cup: South Korea defeats Kuwait 1-0

South Korea defeated Kuwait 1-0 for its second straight win at the AFC Asian Cup, taking a step closer to a berth in the quarterfinals.
At Canberra Stadium on a rainy Tuesday afternoon in Australia, midfielder Nam Tae-hee headed in the match’s only goal in the 37th minute after a lethargic start by both sides. Cha Du-ri assisted the goal.
Son Heung-min, Koo Ja-cheol and a goalkeeper Kim Jin-hyun sat out, reportedly due to cold, and Lee Chung-yong has decided to return to Seoul due to a leg injury.
