‘Misaeng’ author coming to Seattle for K-manhwa festival

Seattleites will have a chance to see “Misaeng” author Yoon Tae-ho next month at the University of Washington’s “K-Manhwa: Graphic Narratives from Paper to Screen.”

“Misaeng,” one of last year’s biggest K-drama hits, started as a graphic novel and tells the story of a young man who transitions into tough Korean corporate culture after spending his childhood as a Go player.

Yoon will participate in the event, running March 28 to April 1, as a special lecturer.

He will give a lecture at Booksori, a monthly Korean-language book talk, and attend a reception, an additional lecture and an autograph event inside UW’s East Asia library.

The library is home to about 15,000 Korean manhwas.
