Choo hits 2-run homer to extend streak to 6 games
Texas Rangers outfielder Choo Shin-soo extended his extra base hit streak Wednesday to six games in an 11-3 blowout to sweep the Houston Astros in a three-game series.
He was responsible for two of those runs after he hit a two-run home run during the top of the second inning — his third of the season.
Choo went hitless for the rest of the game going 1-for-5 raising his season average to .154 and May average to .269 with an impressive .692 slugging percentage.
He has had zero walks and 10 strikeouts in his 26 plate appearances in May, which is uncharacteristic for the South Korean who usually sports a high-walk rate.
The Rangers will play their fourth consecutive road game at Tropicana Field against the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday in another three-game series.
