May 12, 2015
A Northern California mother won the big bucks, a whopping $1 million, at a casino on Mother’s Day.
Ok Hwa Boyd, a Korean American from Sacramento, Calif., was celebrating Sunday at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln when she hit jackpot on its One Million Degree Machine.
According to Fox40, the Mother’s Day casino visit is a Boyd family tradition.
Boyd, who was with two daughters, had to drink some water to calm down after she found out she won, Fox40 reported.
The winnings will go toward buying a new home, Boyd told Fox40.
