TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho to enlist in Army next month
SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) — U-know Yunho of the K-pop male duo TVXQ will enlist in the Army next month to begin his mandatory military service, his management agency said Tuesday.
The 29-year-old singer whose original name is Jung Yun-ho will enter an undisclosed boot camp for five weeks of basic training on July 21, S.M. Entertainment said.
After the training, the singer will serve on active duty for about 21 months.
The agency, however, said it will not disclose the location or time of his entry into the military out of respect for his wishes.
U-know Yunho is currently shooting SBS Plus’ Webdrama “I Order You.”
All able-bodied South Korean men are subject to compulsory military service for about two years in a country that faces North Korea across a heavily fortified border.
