Kim Sei-young takes world No. 10 spot, 5 SK-born players in top-10
Kim Sei-young has already provided some memorable moments in just her first year on the LPGA Tour. It was only a matter of time before she broke into the top-10 world Rolex rankings.
With a second place finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the 22-year-old South Korean replaced Lexi Thompson at the world No. 10 spot on Monday after a rankings adjustment.
At the same time, her compatriot and winner of the event, Park Inbee strengthened her position as world No. 1 after knocking teen-phenom Lydia Ko off of the throne just two weeks ago.
19-year-old South Korean golfer Kim Hyo-joo is ranked fourth in the world, but Kim Sei-young still has a fairly commanding lead in the 2015 Rookie of the Year race.
Ryu So-yeon holds the world No. 7 spot, which puts the total of South Korean-born golfers at five.
Here’s a look at two of those memorable Kim-Sei-young moments where she won the 2015 Lotte Championship, which left everyone watching in a state of disbelief.
