Sunye, Sohee make official exit from Wonder Girls
Ahead of the Wonder Girls’ comeback as a four-member unit, Sunye and Sohee officially announced their exit from the group Monday, Yonhap reported.
According to JYP Entertainment, Sunye — who got married in 2013 — wishes to focus on her family, while Sohee — who transferred to another agency to act — is looking to do the kind of work she wants to do.
The group’s comeback next month, their first in three years, will be with Yeeun, Yoobin, Sunmi and Hyerim.
Sunye and Sohee posted messages on the Wonder Girls’ online community Wonderful, where they thanked fans and expressed their support of the group.
“When I look back on the past eight years I’ve walked with you all, there are only thankful moments,” Sunye wrote. “I will never forget your love and support.”
“I thought a lot about [leaving the Wonder Girls] and had many discussions with the members,” Sohee said. “Right now, at a point where I lack the skill to call myself an actress, I came to the decision that it would be harmful to the ‘Wonder Girls’ name if I tried to be greedy and do both.”
