Kevin Na goes 65-66, tied for 4th at BMW Championship

Korean American golfer Kevin Na is quietly putting together an impressive season and continued to do so after shooting a second round 66 on Friday at the BMW Championship in Lake Forest, Ill.

He got off to a bumpy start after pulling his opening drive left on the first hole, which led to an approach that fell just short of the green. He ended up with a bogey, but that was his first and last one of the day.

He followed up with two consecutive birdies. His tee shot on the 196-yard par-3 second landed within six feet. He then drained a 24-foot putt on the third.

Na made a total of six birdies on the day, which puts him seven strokes behind Australia’s Jason Day who is illustrating his continuing dominance over the field.

“For the last couple of months my putter has been kind of cold, but I’ve seemed to find my form with my putter these first couple days,” Na told PGATour.com. “This is the kind of start I needed.”

He is currently ranked 22nd in the FedEx Cup standings. If he keeps up his play and falls into the top-30 by then end of the tournament, he will be eligible to play in the final event of the playoffs, the Tour Championship by Coca-Cola.
