Top TV host Jung Hyung-don admitted into hospital with pneumonia
Popular South Korean TV personality Jung Hyung-don has cancelled his schedule this week after checking into the hospital for pneumonia, Yonhap reported.
According to agency FNC Entertainment Monday, Jung has been sick since Wednesday but could not rest due to his busy filming schedule. He was admitted Friday after doctors told him he needed rest.
Still, Jung left the hospital for a few hours Friday afternoon to participate in the filming of a new pilot program on KBS, which required him to be on live radio.
“He was planned to film Monday through Thursday this week, but we’ve asked producers for their understanding in rescheduling,” an FNC representative said. “After monitoring his condition, he may begin participating again in filming next week.”
Jung, one of the country’s top television hosts, is currently a regular on a handful of top programs, among them MBC’s “Infinite Challenge,” KBS’s “Our Neighborhood Variety Sports” and JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator.”
