Number of eligible Korean voters in California sharply rises
The number of Korean American voters has risen more than 11 percent in both California and the Southern California area since 2011, according to Political Data reports.
As of November, there were 143,326 eligible voters of Korean descent in California, an 12.2 percent increase from the same time in 2011.
Korean votes are concentrated in Southern California, which includes six counties, including Los Angeles and Orange County. Four years ago, there were 102,702 eligible Korean voters; this year, there are 114,168.
By individual county, Los Angeles County has the highest number of Korean voters with 74,773, a 16 percent rise from 2011.
By party, more Koreans are Democratic than Republican. Of all California voters, 43.1 percent are Democrats, 28.7 percent are Republican and 29.1 percent have no party.
