Former Wonder Girls member to join veteran singer’s Canada tour
SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Yonhap) — A former member of the South Korean girl group Wonder Girls will make her first public appearance on stage at veteran singer Kim Bum-soo’s Canada tour since her exit, a local talent agency said Thursday.
Sunye, 26, will join the 37-year-old vocalist in the “2016 Kim Bum Soo: 17 Years Old” concerts as a guest singer, according to Polaris Entertainment, Kim’s agency. The two concerts will be held on Saturday in Toronto and the next Saturday in Vancouver.
In the concert, Sunye will stage a solo performance, in addition to singing Kim’s duet “Man and Woman.”
The concerts will be Sunye’s first stage appearance since she officially parted in July with JYP Entertainment, the management agency of Wonder Girls. Her departure was triggered by her early marriage with James Park, with whom the former idol wanted to fully engage in Church missionary activities.
“Out of friendship, Sunye agreed to join (Kim Bum-soo) as a guest singer in his concert,” said an official of Polaris Entertainment.
