Dayou Winia to supply 120,000 refrigerators units to U.S.
Dayou Winia Co., a South Korean home appliances maker, said Thursday it has won a deal to ship around 120,000 units of refrigerators to a U.S. brand starting next year.
The company said it signed the agreement earlier this week with the brand to develop and supply five different refrigerators in a deal that will run until 2020. Dayou Winia declined to identify the U.S. brand, citing contractual terms.
Dayou Winia said the deal is estimated at around US$200 million.
The South Korean tech manufacturer added the refrigerators, whose shipping will start around March next year, will be sized 700 liters and larger.
Dayou Winia said the deal was made possible through cooperation with Daewoo Electronics’ retail networks.
Earlier this year, mid-sized South Korean conglomerate Dayou Group took over Dongbu Daewoo Electronics Corp. and renamed it Daewoo Electronics.
