iKON to release new album on Oct. 1
SEOUL, Sept. 11 (Yonhap) — K-pop boy band iKON will drop its new EP, “New Kids: The Final,” on Oct. 1, the group’s management agency said Tuesday.
It will be the third release from the group this year after “Return” in January and “New Kids: Continue” in August, YG Entertainment said.
Debuting in September 2015 with its digital single, “My Type,” iKON achieved massive success with “Love Scenario,” the main track off its second full-length album, “Return.” The mellow love ballad took local music charts by storm and went viral among kids for its simple and easy-to-follow melodies and lyrics.
The group also topped various music charts in South Korea and other Asian countries with “Killing Me” off its last EP, “New Kids: Continue.”
The boys performed at the closing ceremony of this year’s Asian Games in Jakarta on Sept. 2 along with Super Junior, another massively popular K-pop group.
