IU to release unscheduled single to celebrate 10 yrs since debut
SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Yonhap) — Singer-actress IU will release a new single this month in celebration of the 10th anniversary of her debut, her management agency said Monday.
The release of the single, “BBI BBI,” set for Oct. 10, will be IU’s first music release since her last remake album “A Flower Bookmark #2″ unveiled in September last year, according to Kakao M.
IU wasn’t scheduled for a new music release for this year as she explored her career in acting and other entertainment sectors. But she decided on the single’s release as a surprise gift for her fans in celebration of the anniversary.
“BBI BBI,” or “Beeper” in English, reportedly has a fresh concept that IU has not tried before.
Early Monday morning, IU posted teaser images of the new song on her SNS accounts.
In promotion of the anniversary, IU will go on a world tour in December, which will take her to three South Korean cities and four other Asian cities — Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Taipei.
