Boy band Pentagon makes Japanese debut

 K-pop boy band Pentagon debuted in Japan on Wednesday with the single “Cosmo,” the band’s music label said.

The dance track, jointly composed and written by Teru, a member of Japanese rock band GLAY, took inspiration from the name of Pentagon’s fan community, Universe, according to Cube Entertainment.

With a powerful melody, the song carries the group’s pledge of eternal love for its fans, the agency said.

The music video, which was uploaded last Friday ahead of the official release, has garnered nearly 2 million YouTube views so far, Cube said.

Before Pentagon’s Japanese debut, Cube established U-Cube, a joint music label with the Japanese branch of Universal Music, in November in order to launch K-pop musicians in the neighboring country.

On Feb. 24, Pentagon is also set to throw a fan meeting titled “Universe” in Olympic Park in southeastern Seoul.
