Kim Yuna had private meeting with IOC President Bach
A bout of uproar against the “biased” judging that “robbed” gold medal from figure favorite Kim Yuna in women’s single program garnered more than one million signatures in protest of the panel’s decision.
There is much speculation about what Kim talked about when she met with Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Feb. 23 in Sochi, Russia.
Kim reportedly met with Bach to discuss a plan for “Youth Olympics.”
Three other Olympians who participated in Sochi were also in attendance. All of them were 2012 Winter Youth Olympic participants in Innsbruck, Austria.
Kim denied any speculation that the meeting was about discussing the judging of the women’s single program or her announcement of the bid as a member of the IOC Committee.
A spokesman from Kim’s representative agency AT Sports said, “It was a private meeting. It was scheduled long before the game took place. Youth Olympics was the only issue. There was no discussion of the judging whatsoever.”
