ABC picks up ‘Dr. Ken’ for a full season
ABC picked up “Dr. Ken” for a full season on Friday, which means that there will be two Asian American families featured on primetime network television next season according to The Wrap.
The show will feature Korean American actor Ken Jeong as both the shows lead and as its executive producer.
Here’s a synopsis from ABC:
DR. KEN
Doctor turned actor/comedian Ken Jeong (Community, The Hangover), plays Dr. Ken, a brilliant physician with no bedside manner. He is always trying to be a good doctor, as well as a good husband and dad to his two kids. However, these good intentions have a way of driving everyone crazy at both work and at home. Luckily, his therapist wife Allison is just the right partner to keep things sane.
Jared Stern, Ken Jeong, and Mike O’Connell wrote the series, which is produced by Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios.
Executive producers are Jared Stern, Ken Jeong, John Davis, John Fox and Mike Sikowitz, with Mike O’Connell as co-executive producer.
The cast will include Suzy Nakamura (Allison), Tisha Campbell-Martin (Damona), Dave Foley (Pat), Jonathan Slavin (Clark), Albert Tsai (Dave) and Krista Marie Yu (Molly).
