Actress Han Ga-In gives birth to baby girl
SEOUL, April 13 (Yonhap) — “Hallyu” actress Han Ga-in gave birth to a healthy baby girl, her entertainment agency said Wednesday.
BH Entertainer said the 34-year-old star gave birth earlier in the day, and both the mother and child are in good health. It said the father, top actor Yeon Jung-hoon, and the couple’s extended family are all trilled by the baby.
“It is our sincerest wish that the baby will grow up with the best love and care,” the agency said.
Besides starring in “Moon Embracing the Sun” that topped the TV ratings chart and further fueled the popularity of “hallyu” in places like China, the actress also starred in the television series “Yellow Handkerchief” earlier in her career.
“Hallyu,” or the Korean Wave, refers to the popularity of Korean TV shows and music that have secured hordes of fans in Asia, Europe and the American continent.
Yeon, 38, was the lead of the 2008 generational epic “East of Eden” and more recently was cast in the “Vampire Prosecutor” series.
