Actress Han Kyung-sun, 52, dies of cerebral infaction

Veteran actress Han Kyung-sun died of a cerebral infarction on Saturday night, her agency said Monday. She was 52.
“She passed away at midnight July 4,” her agency said in a statement.
According to the agency, Han visited St. Mary’s Hospital in southern Seoul on June 19 on her way back home from a TV drama shooting site due to acute head pain.
Doctors found bleeding in her head and she was hospitalized for treatment. She fell into coma on July 1 and died three days later.
The cause of death was cerebral infarction, according to the hospital.
Making her debut in 1983, she played main or supporting roles in numerous TV dramas or films, including KBS TV’s epic drama “Dae Jo Young,” “Nest of Cuckoo” and SBS TV’s “Giant,” to name a few. She was single.
Her funeral was held at the hospital on Monday morning, with numerous entertainers and celebrities biding a tearful farewell to the actress.
“I’m saddened for the loss of one of the great actresses of our times,” said actor Jung Joon-ho. “She was strong and positive-minded. She will survive in my heart forever.”
