‘Answer Me’ series is getting an American remake by FOX
June 19, 2014
FOX is set to adapt the Korean drama series, “Answer Me,” into one of its own — “Answer Me 1999.”
Based on the hit coming-of-age wonders — tvN’s “Answer Me 1997″ and “Answer Me 1994″ — that brought waves of nostalgia to Korean viewers, FOX’s series will be penned by “Step Up 3D” writers Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer, Deadline reports.
The American “Answer Me” will resemble its Korean inspirations by following a group of friends in a moving timeline between the past and present.
Directing the pilot will be “Step Up 3D” Director Jon M. Chu. The cast has yet to be decided.
