Best time to drink coffee is…
By Isaac Kim
A research study from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Maryland shows the best time to drink coffee is about an hour or two after waking, reports the Telegraph.
According to the research, drinking coffee is recommended between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. This is because the human body’s cortisol hormone levels, which are naturally high after waking, can interact with caffeine.
“If we are drinking coffee when our cortisol concentration is high already, we feel like we haven’t taken any caffeine and will continue to drink more,” said neuroscientist Steven Miller.
According to Steven Miller, the body’s cortisol levels peak between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., from noon to 1 p.m., and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
However, he added that the sleeping patterns for individuals are different, so they should find their cortisol peak hours and drink coffee accordingly.
