BIGBANG to release new album this summer
By Park Si-soo
Popular K-pop boy band BIGBANG will release a new album this summer.
Yang Hyun-suk, president of YG Entertainment which manages BIGBANG, told reporters on Sunday the five-member band will take the stage in support of a new full-length album “somewhere around July or August.”
During the band’s Seoul concert on Sunday, its leader G-Dragon said, “I feel like we have new family whenever we travel to a new country, so we’re very happy.”
He went on, “We’re also sorry to them, and we feel that the best way to make up for it is to quickly release an album and show it to them first.”
“We’re busy preparing for it,” G-Dragon said. “It’s this summer.”
Yang said G-Dragon will also release an album of his own in the near future.
“He will stop appearing on TV shows from March to prepare for a new album,” he said. “He is really a good musician. I believe his new album will be awesome.”
Meanwhile, BIGBANG has hosted eight rounds of concerts in Japan and Korea since November, drawing more than 800,000 fans in the two nations.
