BTS’ comeback show with Mnet set for late May, real-time streaming available overseas
SEOUL, May 9 (Yonhap) — Boy band BTS’ comeback show set for late May will be staged on the Mnet music channel and made available for real-time streaming by overseas online media, their agency said Wednesday.
The event will kick off at 8:30 p.m. on May 24 on the local music channel and will be the band’s first stage appearance after the release of its much-anticipated third LP, “Love Yourself: Tear,” slated for May 18, according to Big Hit Entertainment.
A special film will also be played during the show featuring the main tracks from the new record, which comes about eight months after the previous LP, “Love Yourself: Her.”
The film will walk BTS fans and audiences through the everyday life of each of the band members, telling the story of how they loosen up before a new album release and brace for it. One of the seven band members will be posing as a BTS fan, telling a story about fans from their perspective, according to the agency.
The heavyweight show will also be put up for real-time viewing on the Mnet Japan channel, YouTube and Facebook, as well as JOOX, the biggest music streaming service in Southeast Asia, it said.
