BTS’ Japanese single tops Oricon daily chart
SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Yonhap) — BTS’ ninth single in Japan, “Fake Love/Airplane pt 2,” has topped the country’s Oricon Daily Singles Chart, data showed Thursday.
The album earned 327,342 points, based on physical album sales, beating the group’s own record of 269,861 for its previous single, “Mic Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow.”
It is the group’s sixth straight win on the chart, encompassing every single released in Japan since “For You” in 2015.
The septet’s latest Japanese single contains four tracks — the Japanese versions of “Airplane pt. 2″ and “Fake Love,” “Idol (Stadium Remix)” and the Japanese version of “Fake Love (Remix).”
BTS is to embark on an Asia tour in eight cities and countries, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Taoyuan, Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The group’s Japanese leg of the “Love Yourself” world tour will all take place at domes, the country’s biggest concert venues. It will perform in Tokyo next Tuesday and Wednesday; in Osaka on Nov. 21, 23 and 24; Nagoya on Jan. 12 and 13; and Fukuoka on Feb. 16 and 17. In Japan, BTS held its first dome concerts ever in Osaka in October last year.
According to data released Monday by Nikkei Entertainment, the septet ranked No. 19 in concert attendance in Japan this year, outperforming the popular Japanese bands Mr. Children and Exile The Second.
