BTS sweeps four awards from People’s Choice Awards
SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Yonhap) — K-pop boy band BTS has brought home four awards from the People’s Choice Awards 2018, the awards’ organizer said on its website Monday.
The septet won in the categories of “Group of 2018,” “Song of 2018,” “Music Video of 2018″ and “Social Celebrity of 2018,” at the annual awards ceremony held in Santa Monica, California on Sunday, U.S. time.
For the song and music video categories, BTS was honored top with its song, “IDOL,” beating four other popular songs, “No Tears Left to Cry” by Ariana Grande, “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes, “Back to You” by Selena Gomez and “I Like It” by Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin.
In the group category, another K-pop group, Super Junior, was also nominated.
The American awards have been given, since 1975, to recognizable artists and entertainers in various fields including movie, television and music, who are voted online by the public and fans.
