Cass becomes Major League Baseball’s official beer (for Asian market)
Oriental Brewery’s popular beer brand Cass Fresh was designated as an “official beer” for America’s Major League Baseball (MLB), the company said Tuesday.
Under the contract with the league, the Seoul-based company will run TV commercials featuring the product during this year’s World Series, Championship Series and All-Star Game. The ads will be aired in Korea and many Asian countries, the firm’s spokeswoman said.
The company also won the right to sell Cass Fresh with MLB’s official logo in the domestic market, she said. The contract with MLB will expire in December of next year.
“Cass Fresh is the first Korean beer brand to be designated as an official MLB beer,” the company said in a press release. “This is our first step to make Cass a global beer brand.”
