By Brian Han
Texas Rangers outfielder Choo Shin-soo extended his extra base hit streak to five games Tuesday in his team’s 7-1 win against the Houston Astros.
He hit his sixth double of the season in the first inning off of Astros right hander Scott Feldman who eventually took the loss.
Choo went 1-for-5 with one run, no RBIs and two strikeouts.
The performance raised his season average to .151, but lowered his May average to .286.
Eight of his 11 hits this season have been for extra bases including two home runs.
The Rangers snapped the Astros’ 10-game win streak Monday and are also on the verge of sweeping their opponents in a three-game series ending Wednesday on the road at Minute Maid Park.
