Texas Rangers’ outfielder Choo Shin-soo will be held out of action Monday and Tuesday the Dallas Morning News reported. The team will not be playing Wednesday, which will give him a three-day break.
Choo, 32, underwent ankle surgery during the offseason and reportedly has minor soreness.
The move by the Rangers prevents a matchup that was much anticipated among Korean fans: Choo against Dodgers left-hander Ryu Hyun-jin. He will start against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Choo went 0 for 2 with an error on Sunday, but did get a walk and went on to score. His preseason batting average stands at .222.
