CJ E&M acquires Palo Alto’s hip-hop label
October 16, 2015
South Korean rapper Palo Alto’s hip-hop label has been taken under the wing of CJ E&M, Yonhap reported.
According to CJ Friday, its acquisition of Highlight Record will be the addition of the hip-hop genre to its existing label.
“We’re planning on providing an infrastructure of funding, marketing, global networking and distribution to help the label focus on music production,” it said.
The label was featured on the latest season of the popular rap competition “Show Me The Money,” with Palo Alto acting as a judge. Artists under it include B-Free, Huckleberry P and ReDee.
