Consumer Reports gives LG’s OLED TV highest marks
By Brian Han
LG Electronics has received quite a bit of high praise for its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) television from U.S.-based review agencies, but its latest from Consumer Reports might mean a little bit more.
The reason is that the publication holds a solid reputation of never accepting advertising. It also always pays for the products it reviews, while functioning as a not-for-profit company. Since its inception in 1936, the magazine has amassed over seven million subscribers.
So when Consumer Reports gave the 55-inch model the highest grade possible, it meant a little bit more than say, the awards LG won a week ago from Reviewed.com.
Samsung also fared well in the 60-plus inch TV category with its SUHD TV, and shared the top grade with LG’s product.
The two South Korean companies led the way trailed by Japan’s Sony Corp who also scored slightly lower with its Bravia TV line.
