[DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL] Hamni Bank has become the second-largest Korean-American bank in the country thanks to its acquisition of United Central Bank.
In a press conference held in Dallas on Thursday, Hanmi president and CEO C.G. Kum announced the transaction, which closed Aug. 31 and gives the Korean American bank 50 branches and three loan production offices across the country, including nine locations in North Texas.
The merged bank has $4.4 billion in assets, $2.8 billion in gross loans and $3.7 billion in deposits, resulting in the leading market share among Korean American banks in Illinois, Texas and Virginia. [READ MORE]
