Director Bong Joon-ho named to Berlin Festival jury
January 27, 2015
South Korean director Bong Joon-ho was appointed as a jury member for the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, organizers announced Tuesday.
Bong is the second Korean to be appointed to the jury after actress Lee Young-ae in 2006, according to Yonhap.
The festival is one of the most prominent film celebrations in the world. Included among the six members of the jury are “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky, “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner and “Amelie” star Audrey Tautou.
Bong is one of South Korea’s most acclaimed filmmakers who is responsible for “Snowpiercer,” “The Host,” “Mother” and “Memories of Murder.”
