EXO to release new album this week
SEOUL, March 19 (Yonhap) — The popular K-pop boy band EXO will release its second full-length album “Exodus” this week, its management said Thursday.
The new album, the first by the group since “Overdose” in December, is scheduled to hit the market on Friday, S.M. Entertainment said.
Some of the tracks on the new album were unveiled during EXO’s solo concerts held early this month in Seoul.
S.M. said it began releasing a series of videos featuring each of the group’s 12 members on the group’s official website and YouTube channel and opened official Twitter and Chinese Weibo accounts to promote the new album on Thursday.
Debuting in 2012, EXO rose to fame in South Korea and China after its first full-length album titled “XOXO (Kisses & Hugs)” was released a year later. Its repackaged version sold more than 1 million copies in 2013, making EXO the first group to go platinum in 12 years in the South Korean pop music industry.
