Who is the most popular K-pop star on Instagram?

On a list released Thursday of influential South Korean stars Thursday by the photo-based social networking site, EXO member Chanyeol came on top with the most comments and ‘likes,’ at 97 million.

Instagram compiled data beginning May 25 last year, according to Yonhap.

Following Chanyeol was another EXO member, Sehun, trailed by G-Dragon, Super Junior’s Heechul and 4minute’s Hyunah.

Overall, Hallyu stars received 20 billion comments and ‘likes,’ and had about 150 million followers from more than 20 countries, Instagram said.

Outside of Korea, K-pop stars had the biggest following from Indonesia.

As of last month, G-Dragon was No. 1 when it came to number of followers, with 4.5 million. Behind him were Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon (4.1 million) and four EXO members — Chanyeol (4.1 million), Sehun (4.1 million), Baekhyun (3.5 million) and Tao (3.3 million).

As of December last year, Instagram had more than 300 million users worldwide sharing an average of 70 million photos a day.
