First Korean Heritage Night for Oakland A’s brings 1,000 together
June 11, 2015
Cries of “Daehanminguk” and “Choo Shin-soo” filled the O.co Coliseum Tuesday as Oakland A fans participated in the first Korean Heritage Night.
Organized by San Ramon Hansamo club, the night saw about 1,000 fans cheering on Texas Rangers outfielder Choo during the game.
Hansamo brought a samulnori team and traditional Korean drums.
Hansamo adviser Kang Sang-chul said the night could not have been possible without the help of the Northern California Korean American community.
“Next year, we’re planning to prepare more good quality programs to make this an opportunity to spread Hangeul and Korean culture,” Kang said.
