Fort Lee appoints its first Korean American city councilman
September 10, 2014
Peter Suh will become the first Korean American city councilman in Fort Lee, N.J., come his official appointment Thursday.
Suh, a member of the Fort Lee Board of Education, was reportedly approved by the city council as the successor to Jan Goldberg, who recently stepped down to become the borough’s management specialist.
He will still need to win the seat by public vote in November to complete Goldberg’s remaining term of office, which ends in 2016.
Suh has reportedly completed an application for candidacy to win the seat as an elected councilman.
