Freer Gallery brings Korean Film Festival back to DC
The Korean Film Festival DC is back this year at the Smithsonian Institution’s Freer Gallery, where the event will feature 17 Korean pics from May 3 to June 25.
Supported by Korea Foundation, the festival will kick off with family-centric Korea Day inside the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the gallery said on its web site.
South Korean director and playwright Jang Jin will join the festival as its special guest. Three of his works, “Man on High Heels,” “We Are Brothers” and “Quiz Show Scandal,” are among this year’s offerings.
Others include Boo Ji-young’s “Cart,” Lee Hwan-kyung’s “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” Shim Sung-ho’s “Haemoo,” Yoon Je-kyoon’s “Ode to My Father” and Hwang Dong-hyuk’s “Miss Granny.”
