G-Dragon, Jimin make Guardian’s 30 best boy band members list
SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Yonhap) — Two South Korean artists, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and BTS’ Jimin, landed on the list of the 30 best boy band members chosen Thursday (local time) by the British daily newspaper The Guardian.
The paper ranked G-Dragon, the leader of five-member group BIGBANG, 11th for his role in ushering in “the era of the modern, multi-disciplinary Korean pop star,” and bringing “an alluring androgyny and edge to the band.”
BTS’ vocalist Jimin, who came 17th, was hailed for bringing “the flashes of old school boy band sex appeal” by “showing off his abs during the gorgeous, slow-burn solo track Serendipity.”
The paper picked the legendary pop star Michael Jackson as the greatest. Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake came second and third on the list.
