Girls’ Generosity: Yoona becomes Honor Society member
By Tae Hong
Girls’ Generation Yoona became Honor Society’s first new member of the new year.
The society is an organization of big-money charity donators — according to Community Chest of Korea, the singer-actress has given money toward helping those with low-income since 2010.
Yoona said she did not want to make her donations known at first but later came to realize the importance of a culture of sharing.
Lee Yeon-bae, president of the society’s Seoul chapter, said the star’s participation in donating for five years is expected to increase the interest of the general population in joining her.
Yoona was recently cast as the female lead of Chinese television drama “God of War Zhao Yun” and will begin filming this month.
